IMPORTANT WALK NEWS

THAT I DIDN'T INCLUDE IN THE LAST POST. AND YES, I AM YELLING. HENCE THE CAPS.

As I was taking the dynamic duo out for a nauseatingly-cute romp in the park, I noticed my neighbors about to "walk" their dogs. In their arms. Like the whole time.

Wa-huh?

Part of me wanted to carry Celeste, because then I wouldn't have to deal with her tripping over leashes and launching herself into walls (it's a gift she has). But I would look way dumb, and I pride myself on looking at least a little with it (except when I'm tripping over the dog tripping over her leash, then I look like a dork).

I don't understand those people who buy strollers for their dogs, either.

Your average dog owner sees "walking the dog" as a chore rather than as a way to bond and instill training. Sad.

So see - your not just tripping over Celeste's tripping - you're bonding.

I'd like it if my dogs would carry me, however. Especially in the cold and wet.

Dammit. I wrote "your" instead of "you're" and don't have a pencil icon. :o(

LOL, Celeste has an interesting concept of bonding, then.

OMG! IT would be fantabulous if Mina and Celeste would just pull me around in a cart. Except Mina would pull to the left, Celeste to the right, and goodness knows what would happen to me. :)

*g* i used to take my little old poodle for "carries" :)

she could only walk maybe half a block or so before she'd get tired, so i'd carry her and walk luce. what a sight we must have been.

Little old lady poodles are different and deserve to be carried. ;o)

Seeing perfectly healthy doodle puppies in a stroller, though - I just don't get it. *shakes head*

Tee-hee, I bet you three were quite a sight. :) I would perhaps understand if the dogs were super-duper old, but they're both less than 2...and one is a hyperactive Boston.

puppy has a gift for circling me and wrapping me up in his leash so i cant move. i think he's trying to make me fall down so he can pounce on me and lick my face.

That is highly sneaky of Puppy. But he is highly sneaky, so I believe it.

if he can get me down on the ground, then its PLAYTIME, even if its in the middle of the pet store.

Doesn't carrying the dog sort of defeat the whole purpose of walking the dog? O.o

I did see someone 'walk' their dogs one time by driving up right across from the park and opening the door so their dogs could get out and run around while they sat in their car. I'm guessing that the person did this because it was cold and snowy and they didn't want to be out in it, but I still think it defeats the whole purpose. Especially since you know... it was night and those dogs could easily have run in the street and gotten hit by a car.
