PPA - Proin

This may be coincidence but Mina vomited after eating lunch + her first proin chewable. Anyone have experience with PPA and its possible side effects? It was my understanding that, as far as incontinence drugs go, it was a pretty soft/easy drug for the body to handle.

ppa link. another one.

luce takes proin too (50mg twice daily) and i've not noticed any side-effects. i can't think of any dogs at work who've had significant side-effects, though i can name some for whom it didn't work.

Thanks, I had used it before with Mina without any effects. I'm guessing Mina just ate her chicken too fast and had to barf it up.

She seems a little out of it, though - not restless, just depressed. If it continues tomorrow, I'll just call the vet and get her thoughts.

I think I'm just being uber-paranoid. :)

I can't think of anyone from work who mentioned their dogs vomiting on it. But, ya never know -- every dog is different.

Schnapps has been on Proin for three years without problems. She takes her pills on empty stomachs as treats with no ill effects, though once she got an accidental double dose and was woozy and drooly. She thinks they're rewards for good behavior. Heh.

My SIL's elderly male beagle loathes them, however, and must be force-fed them in peanutbutter.
