Gratitudes

Six gratitudes, in no particular order:
I am grateful for:
1) Mina, bringer of toys: Every time I open the door, Mina is standing there proudly with a toy in her mouth, tail wagging, happy eyes a blazing. I taught her this behavior as an alternative to jumping up and head bonking me. She learned it after three "open door, HERE HAVE A TOY" lessons and, after seven years, she still does it.
2) Good books: I am reading The Dispossessed by Ursula le Guin. It is hard to put down. She has a true gift with words. I heart her.
3) Xena: Warrior Princess: Netflix has Xena on demand so I'm all down with the girl power. It is campy fun.
4) My parents: For just being them.
5) ORANGES!!
6) Vegan macaroni and cheeze made by my mom with yum yum brussel sprouts (yes, I love them).

Mina is truly teh bestest.... that's a sweet trick right there.

omg Xena! I was completely addicted to that show when I was a kid. It's apparantly the only show my mother has ever agreed I should watch. She was at my grandmother's once and it came on and my mom was like 'oh my daughter loves this show!' and so they watched it... and my baba was all freaked out cuz it's so 'violent' and my mom was like 'you have to look beyond the violence... yes there IS violence but it's used as a last resort and there are tons of life lessons in this show.'

and then when I was watching it at home once my sister made fun of it... and my mom actually told her to shut it... rare. :D
man now I wanna watch xena.... lol

Oranges are evil. I'm totally allergic to them. :( And as I found out a few months ago... grapefruit too. ;_;

Brussel sprouts are delicious. I only really like them steamed with a bit of salt tho... :D

how do you make 'cheeze' I assume there's no milk in it... does it still taste cheesey?

Mina's so smart and cute, she's a winner. :)

Ha, that's so funny about Xena and your mom! I was a teen when it came out but my mom and I would watch it together too. :)

That is very tragic you are allergic to oranges!

They have pre-made vegan cheese, which is what my mom used (and added soy milk for the mix). You can make cashew cheese which is savory and rich and tasty. I wouldn't say they taste extremely cheesy, though.

Crappy days are always made better by coming home to a giant teddy bear with a pit bull attached to it. :)
