BIRDS NOT RELATED TO DINOSAURS?!?!?

This is absolutely unacceptable news. UNACCEPTABLE.

The conclusions add to other evolving evidence that may finally force many paleontologists to reconsider their long-held belief that modern birds are the direct descendants of ancient, meat-eating dinosaurs, OSU researchers say.

Still, here's my solace:

"We aren't suggesting that dinosaurs and birds may not have had a common ancestor somewhere in the distant past," Quick said. "That's quite possible and is routinely found in evolution. It just seems pretty clear now that birds were evolving all along on their own and did not descend directly from the theropod dinosaurs, which lived many millions of years later."

Because seriously, look at this little man - he is mini-t-rex-minus-arms-INCARNATE

See? That is how I feel about mini-dinosaurs, pet! Cosmos, the rooster, would not like to be pet due to the fact that he is currently anti-hands.

I know! I was amazed that velociraptors not only had feathers but were the size of bobcats. That's crazy and, imo, further evidence of their connection to chickens (who also have feathers and are the size of, um, kittens!)

when you put it that way, he really does look like a feathered/beaked mini t-rex.

Fandom Wank has ruined me. Now all I can think is 'it wasn't a chicken, it was evil incarnate!'</a>

This makes me feel left out as I do not get the reference. Esplain, please.

I'm so sorry I never explained! I remembered I forgot to (or was pretty sure I'd forgotten to) as I was watching Warehouse 13 and said 'that's no ordinary cow...'.

I don't understand how/why my memory works sometimes. Okay, most of the time.

Here is the entry on the evil chicken. There are a bunch of icons on F_W that still reference it.

Anyone who has ever been bitten by a bird knows that they are directly descended from dinosaurs.

This is true. I have been bitten by many chickens and every time I say, THAT is exactly how a tiny dinosaur would bite me. I say this to myself because saying it out loud garners strange looks.

Yikes!
I really hope that later on it doesn't look like that scene with the velociraptors in the kitchen. Either way, I'm never turning my back on a pheasant again.

That is wise. The chickens will be pleased when they do take over the world. And they will. It's just a matter of time and grapes.

I would like to present this additional evidence to the contrary.
