California friends - want to help farm animals?

Attend one of four campaign kick-off rallies across the state.

Kick-off rally, you ask? Yes! Animal protection groups in California will be working to get an initiative on the November 2008 ballot. The measure would ban the cruel confinement of veal calves, egg-laying hens and breeding sows. The measure would phase out the usage of battery cages for egg-laying hens, gestation crates for breeding sows and would prevent veal crates from being used in California.

In order for this initiative to get on the ballot, though, we need to collect 650,000 signatures in five short months!!

There will be four kick-off campaigns and signature gathering rallies in early October. If any of you can attend, please do! I'll probably be going to the Sacramento one. Please pass this on to others who may be interested. We need as many interested folk as possible! You'll learn various ways to help get this initiative on the ballot!
