A little known fact about me

I love figs. A lot. Figs and beer are pretty nummy too.

It depends on what sort of jam you're making and whether you have the right equipment. Freezer jams are fairly easy and don't require anything but pectin and freezer safe containers. That said, I don't like freezer fig jam.

Proper canned jams take more work, and some specialized equipment. I have a recipe for strawberry jam with in depth pictorial instructions on my blog, here. Take a look there, and for fig, you would use 6 c of halved figs, 5 c of sugar, juice of 1 lemon. When the jam is almost done, I like to add 0.5 c of finely diced candied ginger for the last ten minutes of cooking.
