Sheepie update; Celeste demoted

Today I feel blah. Been working all morning on trying to find homes for those 19 roosters in so cal. Also grant writing? Yuck.

The little sheepie isn't doing so well. I don't really think she'll make it, but I'm trying to be hopeful. Send some positive good-ewe vibes her way, if you can.

Also, Celeste has been demoted to #3 favorite dog after she tried to steal Mina's food and Mina just let her. Which is so unlike Mina who really thinks food is HIGHEST PRIORITY NUMBER UNO ONE!

Maybe Celeste knows you always demote her and she feels like she is not loved as much and is afraid of going back to Mexico so she is trying to fatten up before getting the boot.

And maybe Mina knows that Celeste being bad gets her demoted and she likes being loved more so she lets Celeste do it.

Obviously, I have been working too long today + I have a smooshy spot on my heart for crazy mutts with bad behavioral issues.

This is a distinct possibility since I always threaten to send her back to the streets of Juarez if she doesn't shape up.

I did give her extra butt skritches before heading back to work, which seemed to please her.

There is a big smooshy spot in or on my heart for Celeste. She is actually a super easy dog to have (which may be why I am flummoxed by her since Mina is no beginner's dog).

George has an important question: When Celeste gets demoted, does that mean he gets promoted?

George also wants to know why his mom is so very mean and makes him take a bath after going to the dog park? Did you know the shower is PURE EVIL and that EVIL SMELLS LIKE ORANGE?!

Sometimes; sometimes not. It depends on whether I visualize George in a stylish raincoat or nekkid (raincoat generally wins of nekkidness with dogs). :)

Poor George. Celeste is quite happy to report she never has to get a bath after traipsing through the mud or shit or anything. Mina, of course, says baths are beneath her royal status.

Evil never smelled so good, though, is what I say to George.

How about if you visualize George in a knitted sweater? Because George refused to walk after getting his big toe a tiny bit wet the day before yesterday (seriously, it was just foggy), he's been wearing an awesome sweater and Police Dog Action Vest combo for the past two days.

Why do your pups get to avoid teh evil bath? Do they fart rainbows? Is there something unethical about bathing smelly dogs?

Evil smells delicious is what I try to tell George.
