Don't cry for me Argentina!

Seriously, that is all that runs through my head every time I hear about South Carolina Governor Sanford and his affair w/ a woman from Argentina.

What really sticks in my mind, though, is Jenny Sanford (soon to be ex-Sanford, I hope) who, while she did not (yet?) end her relationship with her husband, she did not stand by his side as he made his tearful admission. I am so tired of seeing women (anyone, really) act in a public supporting role in the admittance of betrayal, the violation of trust. It's bad form.

I'm also sick of seeing philanders get up and cry, acting all melancholic and full of woe. Give me a break.

Hear, hear! They made a CHOICE - it's not like they tripped and fell into bed with the other man/woman accidentally. They should have had the self-control to say no when it mattered, not cry after the fact.

Ha, I'm imagining Sanford tripping onto an airplane to Argentina, tripping into the cab to take him to this lady, and then tripping into her house and into her bed. Oddly humorous image, really.

I kinda had the same reaction when Madoff claimed he was "tormented" by what he did and felt really bad and was sorry. 'cause you know, he only accidently cheated people and charities out of their money...

Gosh, I hate it when you accidentally destroy the lives of a lot of people!

It was nice seeing white collar crime treated with seriousness for once.

*high five*

I'm all about the high-five, apparently even when inappropriate.
